In a situation of risk or danger during the trip, who can I talk to?

During your trip, it is always important to know which emergency channels to use in case of need, whether it is a health issue, safety concern, or accident.

Most useful emergency channels while traveling

  • Driver or company staff
Your first point of contact should always be the driver or the attendant (when available). They are trained to activate the company’s internal procedures and contact the proper authorities.
  • For accidents, crimes, or threats during the trip
Highway Police: 191 (valid throughout Brazil)
  • For medical emergencies
SAMU (Mobile Emergency Care Service): 192
  • For fires, rescues, or risky situations
    Fire Department: 193
  • In case of natural disasters (floods, landslides)
    Civil Defense: 199
  • Bus company’s customer service center
Most bus companies provide a toll-free 0800 number or customer service line for emergencies.
Passengers can find the number on their ticket or inside the bus.
The company can quickly provide support, such as contacting medical assistance or roadside services.
